Miller Grove ISD competes in UIL

On Thursday, March 24, Miller Grove students went to Bonham for their UIL District meet and had a very successful day.  Overall, the group placed second as a school and many students will advance to the Regional Meet on April 23.

Kayla Ford, Isabella DeLong, and Faith Wynn placed 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in Accounting, and took first place as a team.

Grant Sharp placed 2nd in Current Issues and will advance to regionals.

Kayleigh Lester placed 2nd in Editorial Writing and will advance. Eden Godwin placed 6th.

Rosa Schones placed 6th in Feature Writing.

Demi Weatherford placed 3rd in Headline Writing and will advance to Regionals. Cassidy Seaney placed 4th and Jasmin DelCastillo placed 6th.

Jake Pelerose, Johnny White, and Grant Sharp placed 2nd, 3rd and 4th in Informative Speaking.  Jacob and Johnny will advance.

Kayleigh Lester placed first in Lincoln-Douglas Debate and will advance.

Jake Pelerose place 5th in Mathematics.

Cassidy Seany placed 6th in News Writing.

In Persuasive Speaking, Derek McCreight placed 1st, Trent Wolfe placed 3rd and Denise Lopez placed 6th. Derek and Trent will advance.

In Poetry Interpretation, Johnny White placed 4th and Alexis Serrano placed 4th.

In Prose Interpretation, Cassidy Seaney placed 3rd and will advance.

Tiffany Mcmanus placed 3rd in Ready Writing and will advance to Regionals. Jasmin DelCastillo placed 5th and Kelsey Abbott placed 6th.

Derek McCreight placed 4th and Tiffany McManus placed 5th in Social Studies.

The Speech Team also took first place. Way to go, Hornets!!
