Miller Grove ISD athletes competed in the UIL State Championship 3200 and 1600 meter races in Austin on Friday, May 10th and came home with not one, but two state championships.
Jorja Bessonett placed first in the girls 3200 meter race, with a time of 11:19.92, setting a new 1A state/school record and personal best time. Jolee Fox placed 9th place in the same race with a time of 12:32.23.
In the boys 3200 meter race, Isaiah Billingsley clenched state runner up, with a time of 9:49.44, setting a new school record and personal best time.
Kobe Robertson placed, with a time of 10:05.51, also a personal best.
In the 1600 meter race, Kobe Robertson came in first and is a new state champion, with a time of 4:30.23, and a personal best time. Also, Isaiah Billingsley ran the 1600 and came in at 4th place, with a time of 4:34.50, and is a personal best. For the girls 1600, Jorja Bessonett came in at 2nd place, with a time of 5:23.71, setting a new school record and personal best time.
